Coffee explorers & a shot of creativity. On second thoughts, make that a double.
We are located in the heart of KL city, in the old neighborhood of Pudu; VCR brings you fresh coffee daily. The café, built in the 1927 is situated near the old Pudu Jail. The story goes that our lil’ black house in Jalan Galloway was where most wardens used to stay (hence the name Galloway).
Where old architecture meets our modern twist, it’s a place where good things never gets old and it always feels like home. Located in an unsuspecting house, we’re the people responsible for the smell of coffee that permeates the neighbourhood. Run by a team that’s dedicated to always giving you the very best coffee and experience, we believe coffee is the catalyst that brings people together.
We’re a bit introverted, but do say hello to our baristas as we say “Hello, welcome to VCR!”.

a week agoThis is an amazing place. It is a celebration of creativity, tough work and fine sense of quality. The atmosphere is so cool and inspiring. You will feel good even having coffee. But try their sourdough bread with avocado and sunny side egg. They offer filter coffee for the experts.

2 months agoThe food options and taste were good. The coffee variety was ok, the pour over coffee was probably the star and rightly so as a coffee roaster. The mocha which is always my personal favourite at any coffee shop I go was average at best with the sweetness being too strong and overpowering the actual coffee chocolate mix.The food was good and what you'd expect from a coffee shop with good ingridients and taste. The service was OK at best with nothing outstanding or impressive. The location is nice but wouldn't say super comfortable if you're looking to work for a while (although I did see some people working). Overall a solid cafe and would return if in the the city again.

a week agoGreat coffee, we got a cold brew and iced mocha were were both amazing. Food was delicious. Lots of space, good internet. For the cold brew it was served in a bottle that could be brought home. The filtered water given upon arrival was very welcome on such warm day!

3 months agoBy far the best coffee and breakfast we’ve had in KL! W been here multiple times and the few times we tried somewhere different we were disappoint and ended up back here for a better coffee anyway! The lattes are nice big sizes, the granola is so fresh and tasty (we bought a pack to take away) the croissants are beautiful and flaky made in layers as opposed to doughy (how croissants should be IMO), the three cheese toasty is also a big hit. The atmosphere is trendy and inviting and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend if you are coming to KL, seriously going to miss the coffee when we head back to Australia.
