Coffee explorers & a shot of creativity. On second thoughts, make that a double.
We are located in the heart of KL city, in the old neighborhood of Pudu; VCR brings you fresh coffee daily. The café, built in the 1927 is situated near the old Pudu Jail. The story goes that our lil’ black house in Jalan Galloway was where most wardens used to stay (hence the name Galloway).
Where old architecture meets our modern twist, it’s a place where good things never gets old and it always feels like home. Located in an unsuspecting house, we’re the people responsible for the smell of coffee that permeates the neighbourhood. Run by a team that’s dedicated to always giving you the very best coffee and experience, we believe coffee is the catalyst that brings people together.
We’re a bit introverted, but do say hello to our baristas as we say “Hello, welcome to VCR!”.

2 weeks agoOverall pricey. Carbonara taste is mild and the generous amount of duck cubes complimented the whole dish. Truffle fries are good, crispy on the outside soft in. Soft shell crab and hot latte is not bad.

3 months agoI’d heard about this place and so it was my first stop upon arriving in KL. Nice atmosphere with kind and courteous service from every person I encountered. The menu has various offerings and needing something green, I opted for the salad. It was both beautiful and delicious. The long black was so good, I stayed and had another with a lemon tart for dessert. The tart was wonderful ! I def recommend.

2 weeks agoI am rating 4 because I specifically researched for a place where I could work since I am a digital nomad and this was very well rated, food is delicious! Coffee very good! Excellent service! Perfect wifi, BUT for long periods of time chairs are not very comfortable, I had to stretch now and there, or keep moving positions.. so this is the ONLY reason why I take off one star.Maybe I am too picky, but otherwise is perfect!! I even came a second time for the food :) there is really good space for working and even better for larger groups.

3 months agoI came here for brunch and ordered the Turkish Style Eggs with bread and a gingerbread iced latte. I really enjoyed the Turkish Style Eggs; they tasted great. The drink was also delicious. The café has a second floor, which is more suitable for large families, as the tables downstairs are smaller.

2 months agoMay be I set my expectation too high for this cafe. It is okay but nothing above the average, from the vibe, seat comfort, food and coffee. The long black is as tiny as espresso, with a bit more water, the beans are on the acidic spectrum. The English Muffin is good, I like the hint of spiciness added by the sambal chili, better than the commercial chili sauce. Pesto tastes not as strong, it uses arugula instead of basil. Parking is limited (no visible parking lot), better come with Grab.
