Nestled in the heart of Serdang, Selangor, lies a humble dessert haven named Grandmom Dessert 阿嫲芋圆。豆花. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time, with its charmingly worn décor and walls adorned with handwritten messages of love and laughter. The air is filled with the inviting aroma of simmering beans and freshly cooked taro balls, beckoning you to indulge in a sweet treat made with love.

At Grandmom Dessert, the star of the show is undoubtedly the 芋圆 (taro balls). Handcrafted with love using a traditional recipe passed down through generations, these chewy little morsels come in a rainbow of vibrant colors and flavors. From classic taro and sweet potato to more adventurous options like corn and yam, there’s a taro ball to tantalize every taste bud.

But Grandmom Dessert isn’t a one-trick pony. Their menu boasts a delightful array of other desserts, each one a heartwarming slice of Malaysian comfort food. Sink your spoon into a steaming bowl of 豆花 (tofu pudding), its silken texture perfectly complemented by the sweetness of ginger syrup or the tangy kick of durian paste.

For a truly decadent experience, try their 冰糖红豆沙 (red bean soup). Packed with plump, creamy red beans simmered in a fragrant sugar syrup, this dessert is the perfect antidote to a chilly day. And if you’re looking for something a little lighter, their 清凉仙草冻 (grass jelly pudding) is a refreshing and guilt-free option.

The magic of Grandmom Dessert lies not just in their delicious food, but also in the atmosphere. It’s a place where time seems to slow down, where families gather to share stories over steaming bowls of dessert, and where strangers become friends over a plate of colorful taro balls. The friendly staff adds to the warmth and charm, making you feel like you’re part of a bigger family.

So, whether you’re craving a taste of nostalgia or simply looking for a sweet escape, Grandmom Dessert 阿嫲芋圆。豆花 is the perfect place to go. Come for the delicious food, stay for the heartwarming atmosphere, and leave with a smile on your face and a happy belly.

This quaint dessert shop, a heaven for dessert enthusiasts seeking a taste of Taiwanese shaved ice desserts. Star of the menu is the tantalising potato and yam balls, delightful combination of chewy texture and sweet earthy flavours, I would say this place serve better desserts than Snowflakes. Majority of the options priced at RM9.50/ bowl

This shop sells Taiwanese dessert which it has operated for some years already in Seri Kembangan. Seats are limited as the shop is a bit small.

A refreshing place for Taro Ice dessert. The Tau Fu Fah base is silky and smooth. Taro ball and Pearl quite bouncy.

I've tried 5 types while visiting this shop for the first time, and it's terrible. Memories on the wall are great, but I'm here for taste.Everything tastes like it has been diluted with water. Diabetic friendly for sure.

They are more famous for desserts with taro balls. But since I am not a fan of taro balls, I didn't order their signature desserts.Had the honey lemon ice. Portion is very big. Taste refreshing and not overly sweet.Tau foo fah is tasteless and not smooth.
