Nestled in the heart of Serdang, Selangor, lies a humble dessert haven named Grandmom Dessert 阿嫲芋圆。豆花. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time, with its charmingly worn décor and walls adorned with handwritten messages of love and laughter. The air is filled with the inviting aroma of simmering beans and freshly cooked taro balls, beckoning you to indulge in a sweet treat made with love.

At Grandmom Dessert, the star of the show is undoubtedly the 芋圆 (taro balls). Handcrafted with love using a traditional recipe passed down through generations, these chewy little morsels come in a rainbow of vibrant colors and flavors. From classic taro and sweet potato to more adventurous options like corn and yam, there’s a taro ball to tantalize every taste bud.

But Grandmom Dessert isn’t a one-trick pony. Their menu boasts a delightful array of other desserts, each one a heartwarming slice of Malaysian comfort food. Sink your spoon into a steaming bowl of 豆花 (tofu pudding), its silken texture perfectly complemented by the sweetness of ginger syrup or the tangy kick of durian paste.

For a truly decadent experience, try their 冰糖红豆沙 (red bean soup). Packed with plump, creamy red beans simmered in a fragrant sugar syrup, this dessert is the perfect antidote to a chilly day. And if you’re looking for something a little lighter, their 清凉仙草冻 (grass jelly pudding) is a refreshing and guilt-free option.

The magic of Grandmom Dessert lies not just in their delicious food, but also in the atmosphere. It’s a place where time seems to slow down, where families gather to share stories over steaming bowls of dessert, and where strangers become friends over a plate of colorful taro balls. The friendly staff adds to the warmth and charm, making you feel like you’re part of a bigger family.

So, whether you’re craving a taste of nostalgia or simply looking for a sweet escape, Grandmom Dessert 阿嫲芋圆。豆花 is the perfect place to go. Come for the delicious food, stay for the heartwarming atmosphere, and leave with a smile on your face and a happy belly.

They are more famous for desserts with taro balls. But since I am not a fan of taro balls, I didn't order their signature desserts.Had the honey lemon ice. Portion is very big. Taste refreshing and not overly sweet.Tau foo fah is tasteless and not smooth.

I've tried 5 types while visiting this shop for the first time, and it's terrible. Memories on the wall are great, but I'm here for taste.Everything tastes like it has been diluted with water. Diabetic friendly for sure.

Not bad! Good dessert spot. They're generous with their toppings like the taro/yam, taro balls, and grass jelly. They have a solid variety of selections on their menu. Taro balls are very chewy and looks like they're homemade. Really good dessert place in this Seri Kembangan area!Space is a little tight, especially during weekends so getting a seat might be a little difficult. Their space is small too so when it's crowded.. it's crowded! And a little cramped but cozy!Desserts range from RM8.80 to RM10 (as of July 1, 2023). I think for the portions and generous toppings it's really reasonable and they definitely are as good, if not better than those big name dessert shops, so might as well support our local smaller businesses! The one big negative thing I wasn't a fan of was their excessive usage of disposable bowls. For some reason this shop is still using the very unenvironmentally friendly polystyrene/styrofoam bowls. Let's not pretend just because there might be a ♻ symbol it's good. These are 100% NOT recyclable and I was genuinely disappointed to see them contribute more waste & trash to our environment. Let's hope this will change soon, but more customers need to speak up or write on their reviews, otherwise they won't have a reason to.Parking might be a challenge since it's literally on the main road. Their signage is also quite small and very difficult to spot, you probably have to be on the far right lane and going at a slower speed on the main road to see it. Wheelchair users or those with mobility issues may not be able to access the shop. No ramps at all and there's a huge stair step, plus their shop is so cramped i think wheelchair accessibility is going to be very cumbersome.E-wallet is accepted. Restroom available to customers.

Major love for the grass jelly shaved ice and the ambiance of this store is truly enchanting. The walls are filled with people’s traces and memories written on colourful sticky notes. Definitely a memorable place as well as friendly staffs. Would come back again.

Parking is a chore here so pray you get that road side parking.Came on a sunday and theres still seating. Order takes some time depending on crowd. But it was just spot on. Moderately sweet too. Bar the taro balls and alike it's abit chewy. I think too much flour but other than that, write a sticky and paste on the wall
