We arrived here at 6pm on a Saturday. Business is good, but there were still tables available. We ordered a Beggar Chicken, Salted Fish Hotplate Tofu, and Sweet Potato Leaves. Total around RM77 including rice and drinks. The chicken was RM40, tofu RM15, vege RM8. Very reasonable price for us coming from Sabah. Although the chicken is its signature dish, I don't find it exceptional. The taste is good, though for me the chicken meat is not juicy or moist enough. Other dishes pretty good.Lots of locals eat here, so there must be something extraordinary about it. Up to you to explore!

This spot was quite crowded for a Friday dinner, as Kuantan follows a Friday-Saturday weekend. The place had a lively atmosphere, and we ordered steamed grouper (shi ban), Four Heavenly Kings vegetables, their signature hotplate tofu, and two coconuts. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, but everything was served almost at the same time. The steamed fish was chosen by the order taker since we weren’t sure which type suited steaming best. Both the Four Heavenly Kings and hotplate tofu leaned on the saltier side, though they paired well with rice.2 downside - the houseflies were quite a nuisance, and we had to keep swatting them away as we ate.The fish’s skin clung tightly to the flesh. Hopefully, it was just overcooked and not a sign of less-than-fresh fish.

Prepare to wait for a table during peak hours. Seafood is fresh and reasonably priced, with generous portions. Overall, yummy and fulfilling meal.

arrived at around 8.30 pm. was fairly busy but could find a table for 5. was wishing to get the beggar chicken but they ran out and of course we did not reserve in advance. place is fairly clean, food taste was good but nothing spectacular. we tried chili crab, baby beans in salted shrimp, ekobar in dried chili, and sizzling plate homemade beancurd with chicken slices which we all found to be salty. one thing i wished they had the hot bun to dip into chili crab. they gave some common bread instead

A very popular restaurant in Kuantan. However the kitchen churns out the food at an unbelievable speed. We hadn’t even washed our hands and served the tea when the first dish reached the table. I’ve never said this before but perhaps the food came too fast! Lol!The food was generally good but a bit heavy on the salt and MSG. The food: - Herbal/ Beggar’s Chicken - foil wrapped (highly recommended); - Taufoo with minced pork; - Pork Ribs in Yam Basket; - Spring Roll (highly recommended); - Kangkong with Belacan.Be prepared for a busy and noisy atmosphere and likely somewhat stuffy feel. Go for the crowd favourites and don’t expect fine cuisine here. Prices are quite reasonable.
