Overall a must visit for seafood that is affordable and above average.Got the sweet and sour fried fish, kankong and fired onion eggs. All were nice and portion was more than enough for 2 pax.If you are in the city centre, this is the place to come for dinner. The elderly servers were also very friendly and helpful in getting our orders logged in.
Our go to seafood restaurant whenever we are traveling to Kuantan. This round we made reservation for the herbal chicken, holy, the soup is the highlight, as for the chicken, it has been mushy due to the good news has been retained in the soup. Strong herbal, slight astringent, rich, chicken flavorful. Price is definitely on a good value skde, else we won't see the enormous crowd during meal time. Will come for other food next time, will consider to order crab in the future.
Dinner for 2 pax – under RM80!
We had:1. Whole Herbal Steamed Chicken (Famous Beggar Chicken) – Make sure to call ahead to reserve!2. Stir-fried Kailan with Garlic3. Deep-fried Buttermilk Mantis PrawnPortions were very generous for all dishes.
The beggar chicken was packed with herbal goodness, and the soup essence was rich and flavorful – truly a highlight!Definitely worth the money, and I’ll gladly come back again. Great value for a delicious meal!
This spot was quite crowded for a Friday dinner, as Kuantan follows a Friday-Saturday weekend. The place had a lively atmosphere, and we ordered steamed grouper (shi ban), Four Heavenly Kings vegetables, their signature hotplate tofu, and two coconuts. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, but everything was served almost at the same time. The steamed fish was chosen by the order taker since we weren’t sure which type suited steaming best. Both the Four Heavenly Kings and hotplate tofu leaned on the saltier side, though they paired well with rice.2 downside - the houseflies were quite a nuisance, and we had to keep swatting them away as we ate.The fish’s skin clung tightly to the flesh. Hopefully, it was just overcooked and not a sign of less-than-fresh fish.
First meal in Kuantan. But with not a good experience. I know they are famous and busy. But when I ask counter for seats, the attitude was very bad and said "don't you see we very busy, go find yourself!"
The food like their famous Sweetsour meat with yam ring..overrated compared other. The salted chicken with fresh red blood on bone and the meat so hard to tear off. The drinks cup look not very hygenic.. when served still with unknown jelly at cup surface. The environment is packed and hot. But most importantly is attitude.. we know you are busy, but we go there order food you also like not welcoming, then not really recommend go as this is famous eateries in kuantan and it us first impressions to tourist
