Coffee explorers & a shot of creativity. On second thoughts, make that a double.
We are located in the heart of KL city, in the old neighborhood of Pudu; VCR brings you fresh coffee daily. The café, built in the 1927 is situated near the old Pudu Jail. The story goes that our lil’ black house in Jalan Galloway was where most wardens used to stay (hence the name Galloway).
Where old architecture meets our modern twist, it’s a place where good things never gets old and it always feels like home. Located in an unsuspecting house, we’re the people responsible for the smell of coffee that permeates the neighbourhood. Run by a team that’s dedicated to always giving you the very best coffee and experience, we believe coffee is the catalyst that brings people together.
We’re a bit introverted, but do say hello to our baristas as we say “Hello, welcome to VCR!”.

2 weeks agoEvery time I come to KL I make an effort to have breakfast here. The food never disappoints and the staff are always friendly. This time I had the truffle scrambled eggs with salmon and an oat cappuccino. Quality food with the price tag as well ! 🤣 Nonetheless well worth it! Do try out the espresso tonic, a refreshing caffeinated beverage

4 weeks agoOverall pricey. Carbonara taste is mild and the generous amount of duck cubes complimented the whole dish. Truffle fries are good, crispy on the outside soft in. Soft shell crab and hot latte is not bad.

4 months agoI came here for brunch and ordered the Turkish Style Eggs with bread and a gingerbread iced latte. I really enjoyed the Turkish Style Eggs; they tasted great. The drink was also delicious. The café has a second floor, which is more suitable for large families, as the tables downstairs are smaller.

in the last weekCakes for breakfast, why not? Been longing for their naked king, banana cake with peanut butter and dark chocolate ganache but never got it whether it's already sold out or not yet ready. Finally got the chance to try their signature sliced cake! So good!! Definitely worth the wait! Perfectly balanced cake with sweet and savory from the peanut butter. Their tiramisu is non alcoholic. Just ordinary. But the star is their LEMON TART. The tanginess and the sweetness and the pastry. They are match made in heaven. Perfection.

2 months agoMay be I set my expectation too high for this cafe. It is okay but nothing above the average, from the vibe, seat comfort, food and coffee. The long black is as tiny as espresso, with a bit more water, the beans are on the acidic spectrum. The English Muffin is good, I like the hint of spiciness added by the sambal chili, better than the commercial chili sauce. Pesto tastes not as strong, it uses arugula instead of basil. Parking is limited (no visible parking lot), better come with Grab.
