Go for the coffee, really nice! The staff also very friendly and nice. He recommended the chicken chop but i went to try the laksa instead. While the laksa lack coconut and spiciness, I would think it’s catered more for tourists.. imagine those who can’t take the original recipe..ohh well still a nice place to chill.

Loved the coffee options. Also enjoyed the laksa chee chong fun and the toast set. Eggs were perfect! And they sell their own coffee too. Worth a try.

Came to this restaurant twice in July and August 2024. They are famous for the variety of coffee around Malaysia. I find it very unique and appealing at the same time. Everyone should give it a try as each state has its own "character" / taste. We tried wrap, which was surprisingly tasty because the look doesn't give that vibes.. then the hainanese chicken chop..very crunchy, if you're a small eater, please share! Claypot laksa is very creamy.. might not be something for health-conscious people (like my parents) likes. The first time I came here was trying mocha while 2nd time with tea.. yeah, despite the famous coffee, I can take caffeine Overall, the place is nice, but a very big drawback is the ventilation - quite poor, especially at the back near the toilet where the kitchen is.. really hot, and the owner should consider installing more fans if air conditioning is not within budget.

While this cafe is known for their many coffee blends, the Curry laksa is a must-try here! The cafe has a very nice traditional vibe to it as well, which makes it very cosy and perfect for a lunch meeting or coffee date. Seating is a bit limited, though, so you'll want to come early to get a seat. If you're visiting Malacca for any reason, Calanthe is worth a visit for sure!
