Welcome to Red Beanbag!
Red Beanbag is an independent Malaysian cafe and coffee roastery with deep roots in the Australian cafe culture. We first opened in Publika, Kuala Lumpur, way back in 2011 with the dream of bringing the Aussie brunch experience to our beloved home city.
In the decade since then, our passion for specialty coffee, good food and family-focused service has only grown, and our new home at Menara Mudajaya, Mutiara Damansara (just a stone’s throw from IPC and The Curve) has allowed us to make our dreams for a true community-based cafe that serves the needs to families, particularly parents and young children, in the context of 21st-century urban needs and ideals. Especially since the pandemic, we work, play, live, learn, and teach in the same space — and often a whole lot more. Serving these needs and being a relevant part of this community is what continues to inspire us in everything we do–bringing the best that we can offer to all who walk through our doors!

2 months agoThe café has a very cozy ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered The Atlantic (an eggs Benedict with smoked salmon) and a bowl of mushroom soup, both of which were incredibly delicious. The coffee was great too, but the total came up to RM70, which is on the pricey side. That said, the friendly staff made the experience even better—they constantly refilled my water to keep the glass full. Still, I’d recommend it!

in the last weekWe went at around 11.30am on Saturday and we got to wait for around 30min to be seated (6adults 2kids).The food is delicious (ayam legend taste special) but it takes slightly longer to be served. It is ok to buy us time for gathering. I think the staff are so busy that I have to keep them reminded to serve us plain water.Downstairs is more cozy but we are seated upstairs as there's a playground to keep the kids occupied.

4 weeks agoCozy place and have very nice small playground upstairs. Just not safe the kids area near the narrow staircase. Must do something that area. The foods was okay just little bit pricey for the chicken popcorn small portion for RM21. Drinks roughly around RM14-RM16. They closed early at 5pm. It's good if after 6pm turns to bar! HAHAHA jk!

a month agoThe food here is quite delicious. I came with my mom and sister on a Sunday for lunch and we ordered 3 dishes: chicken parm, katsu linguine pasta and the french toast.The chicken parm was okay, I am usually not the biggest fan of chicken thigh and I personally found it just a little oily for me. The taste is mild, not too salty or not too flavorful but balanced. The salad paired well to cut through the oiliness and the fries were great- crunchy with a rough crusty exterior and hot pillowy inside.The katsu linguine was my favourite dish- the sauce was not overly thick and creamy but a great balance of flavour and not too jelat. The spinach and mushrooms were a great addition but the onions could be chopped smaller. The pasta was great but the katsu chicken should be grilled chicken instead because the fried makes it feel oilier.The french toast was delicious but I'd rather have the bread pan fried than having the crusty breading. Still good regardless and the vanilla ice cream add on, berry jam, lemon curd and fruits were a great addition to the dish!

a month agoReally good food and pleasant restaurant.Garden salad was fresh and tasty, had some pumpkin and beetroot, kale and spinach, well balanced and with a nice dressing.Coffee was great!Popcorn chicken was tasty and I really liked the mushroom soup, really well seasoned.
